A note about rescheduling, No shows, and eligibility
OPOTA has very strict requirements for attendance in OPOTA classes. Class commanders and instructors have very little leeway when a student is late for class. In addition, class seating is limited; when you purchase a seat, that seat is not available for anyone else, and OPOTA has strict instructor-to-student requirements. AimHi assigns instructors based on the number of students signed up. As a result, AimHi has implemented the following rescheduling policies:
- Students may re-schedule for a later class prior to the first day of class, subject to the following fees:
- $10 rescheduling fee applies up to 10 days prior (before the enrollment email is sent)
- $50 rescheduling fee applies within 10 days prior (after enrollment email is sent)
- Students who are late for class will not rescheduled automatically and your enrollment fee will generally be forfeited
- No Show students will not be rescheduled nor refunded
It is each student’s responsibility to have and maintain eligibility for the class. Successful registration and/or enrollment for an OPOTA firearms class at AimHi does not guarantee eligibility to take the class. OPOTA instructors are required to determine eligibility and may turn ineligible students away on the day of the class. Refunds generally will not be issued in this case. See the “Check Eligibility” tab for more info.
Description
This is the 4-hour Semiautomatic pistol re-qualification, which meets Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) standards for Private Security Firearms training. Please note that OPOTA guidelines state that you may requalify any time in the 90-day period prior to expiration. It does take time for certificates to be returned, so please allow plenty of time before your expiration. We recommend shooting no later than one month prior to expiration in order to ensure no break in service.
